Attention City of Easley Residents,

Pickens County, in partnership with the South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT), has secured storm debris removal services to assist in the ongoing recovery efforts following Hurricane Helene. Starting as early as October 14, 2024, crews will begin the removal of storm debris.

To ensure an efficient and effective cleanup process, please follow these important guidelines:

  • Placement of Debris: Please place your brush and storm debris in the right of way, ensuring it is off of private property, away from obstructions and clear of the roadway.

  • Debris Specifications: All sections of debris should be cut into pieces no longer than 6-7 feet. Root balls and stumps will not be collected.

  • Exclusions: Please note, this service is for green waste only, such as trees, limbs and other vegetative debris. Household garbage will not be collected as part of this effort. Additionally, debris will not be picked up from private roads.

For residents unable to move storm debris on their own, Pickens County is actively working to identify volunteers who can provide assistance. We will share updates on this initiative as more information becomes available.

With high demand, the removal process will take time. We appreciate your patience. Your cooperation is vital to help us restore our community. Thank you for your understanding and support as we work together to recover from this storm.

Please be advised: For the time being, due to high volumes The City of Easley will only be allowed 5 loads of brush to be delivered to the Pickens County Landfill per day, Monday - Friday.

For further updates and information, please visit the Pickens County website and/or Facebook page.

Sincerely,

The City of Easley Public Works Department
