Public Works

The Public Works Department provides a wide array of public services that are vital to the efficient daily operation of the city. Our mission includes timely response to citizen requests. The Street division maintains city streets, street signs, sidewalks, curb, and gutter sections, and storm drainage systems. Repairs also include maintenance activities such as roadway patching and improving sight distances at intersections to ensure the safety of the motoring public on city streets.  This division is also responsible for the maintenance of Westview Cemetery and Old Market Square.  The Solid Waste division collects garbage, brush/limbs, (including seasonal leaf & grass collection) along with discarding household furniture and appliances.
