Appointment, Training, Continuing Education
- Appointed by the Mayor with the approval of the City Council
- Two-year term
- Must be certified by the South Carolina Court Administration within the first year
Must complete a Judicial Mentoring Program (12 months)
- Must be re-certified every 8 years
- Must complete at least 14 hours of approved continuing education each yearSC Commission on CLE and Specializations (SC Supreme Court)
- Annual training must include Ethics element
- Triannual training must include Domestic Violence, Mental Health, and Substance Abuse elements
